Wildlands Network Celebrates Secretary Haaland’s Confirmation

Wildlands Network celebrates the confirmation of Deb Haaland as Secretary of the Interior.

“In leadership, as in nature, diversity matters,” said Wildlands Network Executive Director Katie Davis. “For too long the voices of native and indigenous peoples of the United States have been silenced or ignored in conversations about natural resource management. As the first Native American Secretary of the Interior—and moreover the first Native American member of a U.S. presidential cabinet—her unique perspective will strengthen the voice defending our nation’s wild landscapes.

“We look forward to working with Secretary Haaland and the Administration to advance the protection and restoration of habitat for wildlife, toward a vibrant future for nature across North America.”
