A Film for Wildlife Crossings: Bringing North Carolina’s Priority Sites to Life

Wildlands Network released a report in 2022 that identifies priority sites for enhancing the ability of wildlife to safely cross highways across North Carolina. These wildlife-vehicle collision hotspots were determined based on analyses that included mapping, modeling, on-the-ground research, and input from a panel of over 40 North Carolina wildlife experts.

This video was created in partnership with the team at Right of Passage to bring the locations into vivid focus. Witness how roads fragment natural landscapes across North Carolina and learn about the wildlife that must navigate them to survive.

With smart investment and continued public support, North Carolina can make our roads safer for people and wildlife alike.
