Our Mission
& Vision

Wildlands Network’s mission is to reconnect, restore, and rewild North America so that life – in all its diversity – can thrive. Sustaining biodiversity requires a big-picture vision. Our projects are strategically positioned across Canada, the United States, and Mexico to connect and preserve nature at a continental scale.

Pathways for Wildlife

Continental Wildways

Using the principles of conservation biology, our founders identified the core native wildlife habitat areas and the corridors that connect them.

We call them Wildways. This innovative concept has fundamentally shaped conservation projects across North America.

Explore Our Impact

Wildlife Research

We collect and analyze wildlife data to understand movement patterns, pinpoint critical habitats, and identify where barriers threaten connectivity. That knowledge lets us advocate for the wild with authority.

Policy Change

Laws and policies determine how well wildlife and their habitats are protected. We push for stronger conservation legislation that gives animals and ecosystems a seat at the table.

Partnerships

A continental mission demands a united front. We connect a diverse network of partners across North America to align goals, share resources, and build toward a shared vision for wildlands.

Land Acknowledgement

Wildlands Network recognizes that the landscapes we seek to reconnect, restore, and rewild are the current and historic homelands of Tribal and Indigenous Communities that were forcibly and violently removed, assimilated and killed by colonizers and their descendants. We acknowledge that colonialist ideologies and systems continue to permeate our governmental and societal structures, including conservation organizations like ours.

We seek to understand and reckon with this history by building relationships with Tribal and Indigenous Communities and Nations across North America, in order to better incorporate their leadership and knowledge as we collectively create a future where all humans and wildlife can thrive.
