Wildlands Network is celebrating a momentous milestone in our efforts to secure protection for wildlife corridors in the United States! In early July, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Wildlife Corridors Conservation Act as part of a stimulus package designed to help America move forward from the economic devastation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The package also includes $300 million in funding for infrastructure projects to reduce wildlife-vehicle collisions and improve safety for people and wildlife on America’s highways.
This is a huge step towards connecting wildlife habitat across the county. Take a moment to thank your Representative for supporting these legislative provisions that protect wildlife corridors and build wildlife crossings.
