Fact Sheet: Wah Wah Mountains

Local tribes named the range after Wah Wah (“Good Clear Water”) Springs. Running from north to south for 55 miles with more than 8 peaks above 8,000 feet in elevation, the area contains the oldest known genetic ponderosa pine population in the world, including some trees approaching 1,000 years old.
