Alison Gordon works with the development team to coordinate the major gifts program and donor campaigns. Her passion for conservation education and stewardship is the foundation for cultivating strong donor relations.
Alison was born and raised in the foothills of North Carolina and attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where she received her Bachelor’s in Environmental Science with a marine biology concentration. She worked for over 10 years in the education department at Brevard Zoo in Melbourne, Florida as an educator, grant coordinator and department manager. Alison spearheaded the zoo’s early education programming and coordinated the evaluation of Lagoon Quest, an environmental education program for all fourth grade students in Brevard County public schools, firm in her belief that caring for wildlife and wilderness begins with our youngest minds. She’s also worked as a naturalist for the Environmental Learning Center in Vero Beach and a volunteer coordinator for Community Watershed Fund in Rockledge. Alison is also a Certified Master Naturalist in Florida.
Alison currently lives on Florida’s Space Coast where she enjoys beach life with her husband and three daughters. She’s passionate about travel adventures, from hiking the Appalachians to snorkeling the Hawaiian Islands, and always looks forward to returning to Maui, where her family once lived. In her spare time she enjoys paddling, running and caring for her horses.
