SUMMARY:An Effective Voice for Wildlife: Wildlands Network's U.S. Policy Program
DESCRIPTION:This year\, we’ve worked to make sure wildlife are considered in the policies that shape their future. \nFrom community meetings to Capitol Hill\, Wildlands Network has been in the room\, working with coalitions and elected officials at every level to make sure wildlife and the landscapes that connect them aren’t left out of the conversation. \nOn May 27th\, we’re hosting a free webinar to pull back the curtain on how it all works: the wins\, the challenges still ahead\, and how we’re keeping Congress focused on what matters for wildlife. \nJoin us live at 12–1pm MT / 2–3pm ET / 11am–12pm PT. A recording will be available after the event\, but attending live gives you the chance to ask our team questions directly. \nThe wild needs people to speak for it – join us to see how that happens\, and how you can be a part of it. \nRegister here \n

SUMMARY:Winter Range Fence Surveys in the San Luis Valley
DESCRIPTION:In partnership with Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado\, Rio Grande National Forest\, and the BLM\, Wildlands Network will be leading a weekend work project surveying rangeland fences in critical winter range for elk and deer in the San Luis Valley. \nUsing a field-based app developed by Wildlands Network\, volunteers will hike up to 8 miles along fences\, recording data that will help indicate the condition of the fences and whether they meet wildlife-friendly specifications in order to inform future modification and removal. \nLocation details coming soon.
