SUMMARY:Wildlands Network Happy Hour Gathering in San Francisco
DESCRIPTION:Join Wildlands Network staff and local board members for a casual happy hour in San Francisco celebrating our 35th Anniversary: 35 years of reconnecting\, restoring\, and rewilding North America’s wild places.\nIn 1991\, a small group of conservation biologists and activists set out with an audacious idea: a landscape connected from Canada to Mexico\, where wildlife could move freely again. Thirty-five years later\, that idea has become 6\,000 acres of protected old-growth forest in Chihuahua\, a New Mexico law now used as a template for wildlife corridor legislation in states across the country\, and $350 million in federal funding for wildlife crossings that reconnect habitat highways once cut in two. We’re just getting started\, and you’re invited to be a part of our next chapter. \nWe’ll be in town for the 2026 Wildlife Conservation Expo — if you’re headed there too\, stop by and say hello. Otherwise\, find us afterward for snacks and a drink\, on us. \nAt this very special event\, we’ll be discussing highlights from our work in California and throughout the Pacific Wildway. Grab a drink\, meet fellow lovers of the wild\, and hear what’s next as we look toward the next 35 years of this work. We couldn’t have gotten here without you. Come celebrate with us. \n Reserve Your Spot

SUMMARY:WN Webinar: Conservation Policy in Mexico - Recent Successes\, Opportunities and Challenges
DESCRIPTION:  \nMexico is a global biodiversity hotspot and a signatory to global conservation and climate accords. Unlike the United States\, public land makes up a small share of the nation’s landscape\, so private family and communal conservation investment is critical. And like the rest of North America\, development pressures and political upheaval create significant challenges to large-landscape conservation efforts. \nJoin Wildlands Network’s senior leadership team in Mexico to learn about the nation’s unique opportunities and challenges in advancing habitat conservation\, including recent breakthroughs achieved at the state and federal levels\, driven by Wildlands Network leadership. Walk away with a greater understanding of how your support for Wildlands Network is driving positive change for wildlife far beyond America’s borders. \nClick here to register  → \n

SUMMARY:An Effective Voice for Wildlife: Wildlands Network's U.S. Policy Program
DESCRIPTION:This year\, we’ve worked to make sure wildlife are considered in the policies that shape their future. \nFrom community meetings to Capitol Hill\, Wildlands Network has been in the room\, working with coalitions and elected officials at every level to make sure wildlife and the landscapes that connect them aren’t left out of the conversation. \nOn May 27th\, we’re hosting a free webinar to pull back the curtain on how it all works: the wins\, the challenges still ahead\, and how we’re keeping Congress focused on what matters for wildlife. \nJoin us live at 12–1pm MT / 2–3pm ET / 11am–12pm PT. A recording will be available after the event\, but attending live gives you the chance to ask our team questions directly. \nThe wild needs people to speak for it – join us to see how that happens\, and how you can be a part of it. \nRegister here \n

SUMMARY:Path of the Puma: A Hike Through the East Bay Wildlife Corridor
DESCRIPTION:Join Wildlands Network for Path of the Puma\, a guided hike through Sibley Volcanic Regional Preserve. Together\, we’ll explore the Overlook and Round Top loop while tracing how mountain lions and other wildlife navigate this landscape and what it takes to keep these pathways open. \nAlong the way\, we’ll connect the dots between wildlife biology\, land use planning\, and California policy\, including the Room to Roam Act\, and discuss how local landscapes like the East Bay play an outsized role in supporting regional and statewide connectivity. \nWe anticipate being joined by Jason Lombardi (California Department of Fish and Wildlife)\, who will share insights on mountain lion movement\, conservation challenges\, and what’s at stake when these connections are lost. \nThe experience will include: \n\nA guided moderate hike (~2–3 miles) through the Sibley Overlook and Round Top loop\nAn introduction to wildlife corridors and why they matter for biodiversity\, climate resilience\, and ecosystem health\nReal-world examples of how roads and development impact wildlife movement—and what solutions look like\nA look at how California is advancing connectivity through policy\, including the Room to Roam Act\nA chance to learn how you can support wildlife coexistence and connectivity in your own community\nScenic viewpoints to observe the landscape and identify key habitat linkages and barriers\n\nHike Details \n\nMeeting Location: Sibley Staging Area\nDifficulty: Moderate (some elevation gain and uneven terrain)\n\nWhat to bring: \n\nWater (at least 1 liter)\nComfortable hiking shoes\nLayers\nSun protection (hat\, sunscreen)\nSnacks\n\n Register

SUMMARY:Roam Free: A Wildlife & Climate Trivia Night
DESCRIPTION:North America’s wildlife is on the move. As the climate changes\, species from bighorn sheep to mountain lions must traverse vast distances to survive\, yet they are increasingly hemmed in by a grid of asphalt and steel. Wildlife crossings and wildlife-informed community planning represent a critical frontier in nature-based solutions — restoring the biological “highways” that allow ecosystems to remain resilient and biodiverse. \nCome test what you know (and learn what you don’t) about how infrastructure policy\, wildlife biology\, and climate adaptation are linked through a vision of continental rewilding through a free trivia night hosted by Wildlands Network\, the nonprofit connecting wildlands across North America so nature can thrive on its own terms. \nThe evening will include: \n\nAn intro to wildlife corridors and why they matter for conservation\, biodiversity\, and climate resilience\nCompetitive (but chill) trivia w/ fun prizes — all levels welcome\nA chance to hear about Wildlands Network’s work and how you can plug in\nFood\, drinks\, and good company at a cozy SF bar (free drink for first 35 attendees who RSVP!)\n\n Register
