Wildlife’s Safe Passage

In the Sante Fe New Mexican, Wildlife Policy Coordinator Phil Carter wrote a letter to the editor, urging readers to support a bill moving through the New Mexico state legislature that would help prevent unnecessary wildlife deaths on New Mexico’s roads.

The Wildlife Corridors Act would direct the state Department of Game and Fish and NMDOT to identify factors impacting wildlife migration and design projects for safe passage. The Wildlife Corridors Act presents a commonsense proposal to give our state agencies the resources they need to save wildlife and reduce accidents.
