Roadways Could Be Safer For Wildlife, Drivers

Phil Carter, our wildlife policy coordinator, spoke with New Mexico’s local NPR outlet, KUNM, about the recent passage of New Mexico’s Wildlife Corridors Act, a first-of-its-kind law that will help protect wildlife traversing the state’s roads.

“The ability of these animals to travel is paramount to their survival. It’s just a really forward-thinking initiative,” said Phil Carter, Wildlife Policy Coordinator for the Wildlands Network.
