The Sierra Sun Times picked up our press release about the introduction of the Wildlife Corridors Conservation Act of 2019. If passed, the Act will restore habitat and protect America’s native wildlife by establishing a National Wildlife Corridors Program that facilitates the designation of wildlife corridors on federal lands and provides grants to maintain wildlife corridors on non-federal lands.
“Wildlands Network thanks Sen. Udall and Reps. Beyer and Buchanan for their leadership to protecting America’s Wildlife,” said Susan Holmes, Federal Policy Director, Wildlands Network. “From elk to monarch butterflies, America’s wildlife needs to move across the landscape to survive. The Wildlife Corridors Conservation Act will reconnect important landscapes and protect species in the face of climate change and development.
